GATHERING
PRELUDE/ENTRANCE/LIFE OF THE CHURCH
*OPENING SONG
"A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" UMH 110
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Liturgist: Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Today, He asks us the same. Let us come with hearts ready to confess, to proclaim, and to worship.
People: We gather to declare that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Liturgist: Blessed are those who recognize His presence, who hear His voice, who trust His name.
People: For Christ is our foundation, our rock, and our hope.
Liturgist: Upon this confession, Christ builds His Church—stronger than fear, stronger than death, stronger than the gates of hell.
People: We stand in that promise. We rejoice in that power. We worship in that truth.
Liturgist: Come, let us worship the One who reveals Himself, calls us by name, and entrusts us with the keys of the Kingdom.
ALL: We worship Jesus Christ—our Lord, our Savior, our Rock forever. Compiled by Copilot August 13, 2026
Opening Prayer
Holy and Living God, You are the One who reveals truth to searching hearts. As Jesus asked His disciples long ago, you ask us today: “Who do you say that I am?” Grant us the faith of Peter that our lips may boldly confess and our lives may faithfully reflect that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Build Your Church within us—steady as a rock, courageous in witness, humble in service. Strengthen us with the authority of Your Kingdom: the authority to forgive, to bless, to bind ourselves to your will, and to loose ourselves from all that keeps us from You. As we worship, open our eyes to your presence, open our ears to Your Word, and open our hearts to Your Spirit. Shape us into a people who stand firm in Christ and shine with His love. In the name of Jesus, our Lord and our Rock. Amen. Compiled by Copilot August 13, 2026
