Laundromat Ministry

8 AM until 12:15 PM - Meet in DUMC’s Rumbaugh Hall to travel to and arrive by 8:15 AM at the Daisy Laundromat - West Side Mall, Northampton & S. Wyoming Ave. (Rt. 11) Edwardsville, PA 18704. The mission team will provide fellowship, change to fund the washers and dryers, as well as food pantry items for those in need. It is anticipated that work will be completed by Noon and return to DUMC will be by 12:15 PM. Please see Pastor Tom Swingle for more information and/or if you are interested in serving on this team. Unhoused Neighbor

8:30 AM until 12:15 PM - Meet in DUMC’s Rumbaugh Hall to travel to and arrive by 8:45 AM at Kirby Park (pavilion across from the parking lot). The mission team will partner with Give Hope (Volunteers of America) and the Salvation Army to provide our unhoused neighbors with a breakfast sandwich, drink, personal care items, snack foods, clothing, and Christian reading material. It is anticipated that work will be completed by Noon and return to DUMC will be by 12:15 PM. Community Youth Group Planting and Visiting

9:30 AM to 12:30 PM – Community Youth Group Planting and Visiting – Join this team on the church side of DUMC’s parking lot to plant some beautiful flowers in porch pots or package kits to plant with local church members who are not able to easily attend church in person. Some porch pots will be delivered with a quick visit and some packaged kits will be delivered and include time spent to plant them together. Planting at the side entrance of the church will also be completed… the children from the daycare enjoy watering those for us! Lunch and Thanks

10:30 AM to 2 PM – Lunch and Thanks – Meet in DUMC’s Rumbaugh Hall to travel to and arrive by 11:00 AM at the Second Street Fire Station, Plains PA. Soup, sandwiches, and thanks will be served to the Plains area first responders. It is anticipated that work will be completed by 2 PM and return to DUMC will be by 2:30 PM. 12 Noon until 1:30 PM – A Complimentary Lunch will be provided by Missions From The Kitchen (“MFTK”) in Rumbaugh Hall. Mission team providing support for all TCHLTB participants. Table Chapel will take place during lunch with discussion cards at place settings – please sit with your team members during lunch.

Planter and Worship

1:15 PM to 3:00 PM – Meet in DUMC’s Rumbaugh Hall to travel to Third Avenue Health and Rehab (702 Third Avenue, Kingston) to arrive by 1:30 PM, set up and create/plant a raised planting bed and a Worship Service with the residents there until 3 PM. It is anticipated that the team will return to DUMC by 3:15 PM. Gathering for Reflection

3:15 PM – Gathering for reflection on our day of Mission – Cake, coffee, water, iced tea, and Fellowship will be shared in Rumbaugh Hall for all those who have participated in the day and any congregation or community members who would like to hear about this wonderful day of mission.
